• Elegant form with rudimentary cusp to the top and pointed bottom
• Thick with a broad rounded edge and high relief, well delineated, central pentafoil
• Made by the open face mould technique
• The form of the heart is natural as in the body rather than stylized with the top cusp
• The heart stood for bravery, fortitude, loyalty, integrity, all attributes of the Viking warrior
• Surface lightly textured from burial and professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold restored
