Other gemstones

There are four gemstones globally recognised as being ‘precious’(diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds) because of their hardness, rarity and beauty. Other gemstones are classified as ‘semi-precious’, but that is a matter of opinion, fashion and taste. Gemstones which may not be conventionally labelled as precious, have their own beauty and charm that make them precious in our eyes.
